Terms of Service

1. Service Description

NBacking is a free Dual N-Back cognitive training web application. Users can create accounts, play training games, track scores, participate in leaderboards, and interact with other users through friends and community features.

2. Account Terms

• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password.
• One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to manipulate scores or circumvent restrictions is prohibited.
• Usernames must be 3-150 characters, ASCII only (a-z, 0-9, _, ., -).
• We may remove usernames that are offensive or impersonate other individuals or organizations.

3. Acceptable Use

By using NBacking, you agree NOT to:

• Gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts.
• Submit fabricated scores or manipulate leaderboards.
• Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to play games.
• Harass or abuse other users via community features.
• Attempt to disrupt the service (DDoS, excessive requests).
• Circumvent rate limiting or CAPTCHA protections.

4. Content and Data

• Users retain ownership of their game data.
• By submitting scores, you agree to your username and country being displayed on public leaderboards.
• Community messages are visible to all users.
• We may remove content that violates these terms.

5. Theft Cascade Mechanic

NBacking includes a point redistribution mechanic where points may transfer between players on the leaderboard based on activity. This is a game feature. Players who have scored within the last 96 hours are shielded from point transfers.

6. Intellectual Property

• The application code, design, and branding are owned by the operator.
• The N-Back task is a public domain research methodology.

7. Service Availability

• The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
• There is no guarantee of uninterrupted availability.
• We are not responsible for cognitive training outcomes.
• We are not liable for data loss.

8. Account Termination

• Users can delete their account at any time. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Colombia. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Bogota DC, Colombia.

11. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via the site.
